Our last race was the
One Mile Race
was swum on 8 July 2026.
We had a full house for our latest open water race, with swimmers spanning the full spectrum of pace. From Pablo storming home in a blistering 28:34, to Fredrick crossing the line at 55 minutes (a time this author knows all too well, since it's roughly what it takes me to swim just one mile!).
Conditions couldn't have been better: glorious sunshine and a wonderfully warm 22°C in the water. The course started mid-pool, headed to the deep end, then settled into 17 further laps of steady swimming.
It was fantastic to welcome swimmers from Goldman Sachs, Luach Ltd, Mastercard, Candriam, and Close Brothers, and others alongside students from UAL and Boston University. It was a brilliant mix of club regulars and new faces.
Everyone left with a smile, and the celebrations continued down the road at the Rose and Crown Pub, where the swim chat carried on long after the last lap.
Thank you to Sue for bringing the sweet Watermelons! They were loved by all and none were left by the time medals were given out.

2026 Dates
Training Sessions
Due to popular demand, we are meeting for a monthly training session and a few Lido's.
Please join us in the pool for a few laps on the dates and pools below.
And...if you have time, come along for a friendly refreshment at a local pub afterwards:
** Due to the lovely weather and school holidays, it has been difficult to book onto Lido weekend swims. We have suspended them going forward and hence, there will be a short break in August and September - back in October 2026 **
We will provide training programmes on the night for different swimming levels.
Training is usually in a variety of pools across London.

About us
The SESC has been around since 1911. We provide a space for London masters swimming to compete. Professional working in London can challenge their swimming abilities by entering 5 different types of competitions held throughout the year.
The competitions are open to all city professionals of London to attend. Training is usaually swum independent of the club. However, we do meet together to train once a month in a London swimming pool. Please look at our calendar page for more details.
The setting we provide is relaxed and offers opportunity for swimmers to compete at different levels and provide a place to socialise with other like minded professionals from across the city.
We do not ask for membership fees, just registration fees for each race.

In the Beginning
The Stock Exchange Swimming Club (SESC) was formed in 1911. It had a break for both world wars. In the 1950's swimming pools opened up and so did the club.
It has been a part of the community for over a century with another short break during the pandemic.
